The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute
The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute (VCCRI) turned to Etcom as specialists in the field of Ethnic Communications to help create awareness of VCCRI, and the growing incidence of heart disease within ethnic communities. As part of the communications strategy, Etcom organised a media tour on the 29th of May 2007, which was attended by 23 media representatives from Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Indian, Italian, Korean, Spanish, and Thai communities. The media were taken on a 'behind the scenes' tour of the VCCRI laboratories and listened to an informative presentation by Professor Robert Graham, Director of the VCCRI.
BigPond Broadband Wireless launch
T2 Function Centre, Sydney Airport
11 April 2006 - A delicious lunch with key Chinese media representatives kicked off a Chinese advertising campaign to launch BigPond Wireless Broadband.
The spectacular sweeping views of the airport set the perfect scene for BigPond Wireless Broadband, which offers freedom to users and superior coverage across Australia.
2006 Ethnic Business Awards
The Sydney Opera House, Sydney
14 November 2006 - 2006 marked the 18th annual Ethnic Business Awards founded by Etcom Chairman Joseph Assaf. The nation's longest running Business Awards encapsulate and recognise the brilliant accomplishments and contributions of those who arrived as migrants with, as one past winner reminisced, 'a suitcase and a dream'.
Held under the grand sails of the Sydney Opera House - an iconic venue for an iconic event - the guest of honour in 2006 was His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC (Retd), the Governor-General of Australia.
Etcom will once again coordinate the 2007 Ethnic Business Awards, which includes the organisation of the five-star Gala evening, competitive nomination process and extensive media relations.
Jetstar Launch
July 2006 - Launching their new international flight destinations in 2006 also saw Jetstar explore a different kind of new horizon - Ethnic Communications.
Jetstar's aim was to entice travellers through realistic snapshots of target destinations. This included reaching members of ethnic communities, namely those represented by the target destinations: Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Hawaii.
Etcom successfully wowed early morning commuters in Sydney and Melbourne. Numerous train stations were transformed into tropical destination hotspots, displaying traditional entertainment from each target destination - the vibrant 'Jetstar Orange' a reoccurring feature. Etcom also coordinated ethnic media representatives to attend official launches where they had a first hand taste of the Jetstar international experience.
